Prayer requests week beginning 30th Jan 2006

Being less selfish this week and dont want to dwell on exams - its too late now!

Anyway this week could we please pray for Rich and his family. They are going through a tough time at the moment because of illness. I know how hard it is when someone you love is going through a tough illness. So please pray for some strength and comfort for them.

Also Marion and her family - her daughter is also having health problems - not life threatening but embarrasing and uncomfortable. So again strength and comfort for them all.

Too often we worry about the person who is ill or dying and that is fair enough but those who love them best also go through a tough time (sometimes tougher) so maybe we can pray for everyone who is a carer, relative, friend of someone ill - let the Lord God sustain and support them in order that they can help the one who is ill.

Post exam exhaustion!

Hi there
well they are done! All sat and now just the waiting! This week was hard work. I really do struggle to concentrate with revision. But hopefully what I did was enough. And the good news is that the tummy gymnastics have stopped and I got a reasonable nights sleep last night!

Next term starts 9am monday morning! Can you believe it? I will have to get up at 6am every monday morning for the next term. Not good news! I also have either a thurs or friday to have to get up extra earlier for depending on tutorial groups. Not so many subjects to do either this term - especially if I chicken out and dont do Greek. But as I said before I want to do greek texts next year so might just have to dig in and work extra hard!

Had an afternoon shopping with Kirsti this afternoon - teenage daughters can be really hard work and so fussy! Why do they all want to look like clones? Whay cant they show a wee bit of individuality? Anyhow trip was successful eventually - Kirsti chooses a sensible winter coat that not only makes her happy but mum approves of! Whey hey! What did I get? Oh just a few books mostly second hand too!

Anyway looking forward to a lazy evening - teenage daughter cooking tea!!!!!!

Blessings to all.

Prayer Requests Week beginning 23rd Jan 2006

Prayers this week please for all of us still studying for exams.
On a personal note I could do with getting some proper sleep and to be less worked up about the exams.

Thank you

2 down 3 to go..........

Well its saturday and I really should be studying but brain just not in gear!
Have survived the firt two exams, think they went ok. Its the ones this coming week that will be the toughest.
Have been doing a little often with the Greek - so feeling not too bad about that one (I think!). Have to decide if I want to continue with it next term. I took it as an extra this term so dont need the points. Have some idea about studying greek texts next year instead of english texts - but would that be just too hard????? Oh I dont know........

I have decided that I hate exams - I get so worked up that I cant sleep, which then just adds to the pressure coz I worry about lack of sleep so the worry makes it even harder to get to sleep. The studying bit isnt so bad - when my head IS in gear I actually enjoy it and feel that I am learning.

Anyway like I said 3 to go and a bottle of bubbly to look forward to. Neil wont let me open it until the exams are over!

Speaking of looking forward to something, Neil was 40 last week! His big pressie is a weekend away to Budapest next month. We are going away with some chums (one of whom will have just turned 40 too) on the 17th of Feb for a long wekend. 5 star hotel and flights all booked and soooo looking forward to a weekend of pampering in a beautiful city. (And no kids to keep happy!! wooo! hooo!)

Anyway I have put the greek off too long. Must get back to learning vocab. Have a wonderful wee programme that does vocab tests, it has really helped.

Prayer Requests Week beginning 9/01/06

Hi
wondered if you had anything you would like bloggers to pray for this week?

My requests are:

1. getting my brain in gear and getting some quality revision done - have had a duff day today so far!
2. for the same as no 1. for all my classmates and anyone else with exams over the next few weeks.
3. For Ian F and his wife as they prepare for the arrival of their baby this week. Ian also has exams to contend with!!

I just ask that anyone reading the prayer requests takes a minute to pray for what has been requested and if you have something you want added then add it in a reply to the post. That way we can suport each other.

Everyweek I will start a fresh Prayer Request Post.

Thank you.
God Bless

Discussion 1

Good morning!

Came across this brilliant quote this morning whilst revising. Alfred Loisy said of Jesus:

"Jesus proclaimed the Kingdom and along came the Church."

What do you think?

Have we got it right? Have we done as Jesus asked?

Would love your comments on this....

Shuna & Hubby -Neil

Well hello...........

or aye aye fit like? (as us quines say)
Welcome to my blog! Having limited experience of bloging I hope to build up something worth reading over the weeks and months to come. I hope my random thoughts and words of wisdom(?) entertain, make your brain think (hurt even) and put a smile on your face often.

Come back soon and see what I have added.
